Trat Independence Day 2017

Trat is a popular province for tourists, especially its famous Ko Chang that attracts thousands of sun seekers every year. But many people don’t know that this lovely province was once in French hands. This is why Trat holds its Independence Day annually to mark the historic day on which Trat and Ko Chang were handed back to Thailand on 23 March, 1907.

This year marks the event’s 110th anniversary. To celebrate this, the local authorities have scheduled a range of activities to be held in the environs of the Provincial Town Hall from 23-27 March.

Highlights include historical performances, local product stalls, exhibitions from state and private organisations, traditional folk games and sports exhibitions, musical performance and other stage performances.
